How to access SNIPs short-break support

The Council manages the assessment and referral route. We can explain Hanad's House and help you understand who to speak to next.

Start with Sheffield City Council

Tell the team that you are asking about short-break support for a child with disabilities. They will explain what information they need and whether an assessment or another route is appropriate.

Ask us about Hanad's House

We can explain the setting, the sessions we run and what families can expect. Call ICCare on 07949 169627. We cannot make the Council's eligibility or funding decision, but we can make our part of the process easier to understand.

Keep the first conversation simple

You do not need to send detailed sensitive documents in an initial email. Start with your name, a safe contact number and the broad reason for getting in touch. We will agree the right route for any information that is genuinely needed.

Safeguarding is different

If you are worried that a child is at risk, do not wait for a SNIPs response. Follow our safeguarding information and call 999 if someone is in immediate danger.
